Who I work with

I work with individuals and couples who want to understand themselves more fully and change patterns that are causing difficulties in their lives. You may be going through a loss or a life change, struggling with anxiety or depression, or finding that familiar difficulties keep coming up in your relationships.

I work best with people who want to take an active part in therapy. Together we look at what is happening in your life, how earlier experiences may be shaping it, and what you would like to change. Trying things we discuss between sessions and using the support available to you are part of that work.

If you would like to work together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.

Individual therapy

You may know what you want to change and still find yourself responding in the same old ways. I work closely with the thoughts and beliefs behind these patterns, including the ways you learned to protect yourself earlier in life.

We make room for the feelings and experiences that have been difficult to understand or express. My hope is that this work allows for more choice, self kindness, and a more meaningful relationship with yourself and others. I see adults and older adolescents.

Couples counseling

Couples often come to me when they are having the same argument again and again, feeling distant, or trying to rebuild trust. We look at what happens between you and practice ways to listen, speak honestly, and respond to one another with greater care.

My work focuses on creating emotional safety and understanding each person's part in the relationship. I'm a certified Relational Life Therapist, and I also draw on Imago Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Together we work toward greater trust, intimacy, and closeness.
